Sound patterns

Alliteration is the repetition of initial consonants in neighbouring words. Alliterations, consonances or assonances creates echoes between words. They have musical effects while at the same time creating relationships between different words.

Assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds.

Consonance is the repetition of consonant sounds.

Consonants can be said hard or soft. Plosives [ p / b /t / d / k / g ] can be said to be the hardest of all. Then come fricatives [ f / v/ s / z / th ], also called sibilants ( they create a hissing sound ), and aspirates [ h ], and finally liquids [ l ] and nasals [ m / n ].
